Darkness by Oath was born at the end of 2002 when Aritz Navarro (NUMEN) and Alex Garcia (DENIAL) gathered to create something different from their bands. The line up was completed quite fast with Rubén Alonso (ex DENIAL), Tristan Iñiguez and Asier Bilbao (ODD HEATHENISH). There was a clear idea of forming a Melodic Death Metal band, influenced by the so called Gothenburg sound, of the early-middle nineties.

The band started composing new songs, after some months Alex quit due to lack of time. Angel Garcia (ex SEPTICEMIA) took his place and with this new line up DARKNESS by OATH did their very first recording. The band recorded a cover song of "The Swarm" from the swedish melodic death/thrash masters AT THE GATES. The track was inluded on the "Slaughterous Souls - A Tribute to AT THE GATES" compilation, released on September 2004 by DROWNED SCREAM Records and GOI Music. Meanwhile, the band suffered a new line up change, again on guitars. Angel left the band due to proffesional matters and Diego (ex CONTINUO RENACER) filled the spot.

After That, Darkness By Oath Recorded a demo on its own rehearsal place and played live the first time, entering Shot! studios on March 2005 in order to record the debut album, Confidential World Of Lies, that includes nine tracks:

For different problems, never related to the band, the release of the album was decayed... until the band decided to change the label. Finally, on the May the 19th, Confidential World Of Lies sees the light by the hands of Drowned Scream Records and Indar Productions. Anyway, the band has presented they work during these months in many cities around the state, working also in the composition of new songs for the forthcoming album.
